I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to spend a great deal of time at Bethel. I entered from a recent release from .a prolonged stay from prison and drugs had played the biggest role in my life. The lifestyle and use got me. I didn't know how to live without that being my first and main objective. Through some counseling and correction the brotherhood and love but most of all we all journey with Christ as He begins a work inside us. The pastors are exactly as God's seen for them to be playing a major role here. I can go on but simply put I thank God for His mercy and His grace! Because men have allowed God to work through them that many men's lives were affected and it's in a Major way. I'd never suggest another location outside Bethel Colony. Strongly recommend and often do tell someone struggling that "there's a place in Lenoir that's faith based, drug/alcoholic program that's gonna supply you with The Problem Solver! It's forever in Christ Jesus that I and many extend gratitude to Bethel and the men obediant to the call on their lives! Definitely 5 stars from me! Needs to be a 10!
Life changing through the power of the risen Savior.
previous review was due to being hacked. i have no knowledge of this place or their operations and day to day business
Bethel Colony of Mercy is a program that has helped thousands of men and their families for 70 years and this still continues today. Through the Gospel message of Jesus Christ, Bethel offers hope and healing to those who have lost all to their addiction. This is a safe place, with staff who care and give of their lives daily to see men (and soon women) walk in victory through Christ. Thank you God for Bethel Colony of Mercy.
Just graduated Bethel. Don't waste your time going anywhere else. If your battling addiction, call BCM. Application process is very simple and cost is only $250 for 65 days plus extentions. You'll find a community and staff that are extremely supportive. AA and NA don't work. Turn it over to God and get right with Christ. Bethel Colony is in the life and soul saving business, not the profit business. Thank you Pastor Pruitt, Pastor Turner and all the staff and Pastors at BCM.
Amazing experience, I found Christ and new life at Bethel as well as training and the tools to make a lasting positive impact on mine and my families lives. Bethel Colony and the amazing staff helped save my life through Christ. Do not expect to be babied, we in addiction need stern yet grace filled direction, this is what you will find at Bethel, just the way it should be :) God Bless!
I must say that I went through Bethel in 97 and even though I fell back into a lifestyle of alcohol and drugs, I have never truly been the same. I became as one who had tasted the sweet satisfaction of milk and honey and then returned to my own vomit. There has not been one moment of pleasure or satisfaction in my addictive behaviors since I met Jesus at Bethel Colony of Mercy. Even though I have struggled with my addictionthroughout the years, I can honestly say that my experience there was one which I truly wish that I could re-gain. I have wished many times that I had never left Bethel but rather had gone on there to complete what the Lord had begun in my life. I am much like the man who opened his eyes in hell and desired to cross back over but there was a wide void between him and this place of comfort. Oh that a drop of soothing water could be placed upon my tongue to releive the torment which I am experiencing. Ina sense I have returned to warn my brothers to seek that path which is HIS and avoid this place of torment. They have the prophets and the scriptures, if they will not believe them then why should they believe me even though I have raised from my torment to proclaim that surely HE WHO SAVES is in this place.
I have never seen a more caring ministry than this. To help broken men realize how much the Lord God Almighty loves them and sent his son to die for them. To teach them, counsel them and LOVE them! I can only pray Bethel keeps growing and giving with their whole hearts like I know they do on a daily basis. I like the post below mentioning that this is not a spa, that there is work to be done, rules to abide by and respect that is earned. If you TRULY want to change your life and are willing to surrender all, you will be completely transformed by the Lord's healing powers here. I have seen SO MANY men completely transformed by the renewing of their minds here it is truly God at work at Bethel Colony. Praying for you always!
My boyfriend at the time WENDEL BENTHALL entered the program a few years ago a broken man. He came out chipped, meaning he still had work to do. I know because of Bethell it put something there in his heart and mind. Without bethell he would never been able to begin to build his life. We didn't have the money to pay and bethel allowed him to stay. He completed the program and even today he refers back to something he heard and learned from the program. We both hope to return one day soon to give back that $250 plus some. Maybe the person who wrote the comment was not ready to receive what bethel had to offer. The devil can not exist in this place they weed out all vehicles that the devil may hitch a ride with.
Seemed very strict and too many rules the first week.......now that I'm through it I honestly miss the place daily lol. It is a great place
I credit my family, as it is today, to the life transforming opportunities and the power of the Holy Spirit at Bethel Colony of Mercy. Bethel Colony is NOT a cake walk. Bethel Colony is NOT a spa resort. If one has made the type of life threatening choices it takes to get you to a place of restoration and transformation, like Bethel Colony of Mercy, the last thing you need is a spa. Bethel requires that you participate in their program. Bystanders and onlookers will not experience the healing- deep, life changing healing- simply by showing up. Be prepared to do homework and become an active part of the Bethel Colony team. Be prepared to partner with God for your healing. Go and receive all God has for you.
It may not be a place you ever planned to visit... however, if you end up there it is because God needs you in his army. You can only learn from the experience; in the same way we insist on learning about all of the things that lead us to this point in our lives... CUT CUT CUT CUT!!!!!
It! Definitely a transforming experience
The best thing I ever did in my life. I felt the power of God on that mountain. And for the lady that posted a review, this is a men's rehab.
Breaking the chains of addiction here through Christ, changed my life, while transforming my heart completely!
It saved my life.
